“Gone Riding” Summer Horse Camps
Summertime is the
perfect time to be “gone riding” and Sunset Trails Stables is the place to go.
Campers often say, “This camp was the best part of my whole summer!” Horses and
riding equipment are provided, including riding helmets. Campers will be divided
into groups by age and experience. Safety is a first priority. A detailed
schedule of camp activities is available for each camp. Please choose one or
more sessions from the following schedule:

June camps are offered daily or weekly, from 9:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m.
June 2 - 5
(Mon. - Thurs.): Gone Riding Camp, ages 6 and up Campers learn Western
and English gaits, balance, posture and body cuing in Western and English tack.
Making crafts, reading books, and watching a horse video are also part of this
camp. A fun show and awarding real ribbons tops off the fun at the end of camp.
June 9 – 12 (Mon. - Thurs.): Beg. Barrel Racing and
Pole Bending, ages 8 and up
Campers learn barrel racing and pole bending patterns,
along with turning, checking, and proper starting and stopping. Campers will
earn achievement awards in this camp.
June 23 - 26 (Mon. - Thurs.): Gone Riding Camp, ages
6 and up
This camp is for those who have taken beginning
horsemanship. Campers practice gaits, balance, posture and cuing. A fun show
awarding ribbons will take place in this camp.
July camps are offered
four mornings from 9:00 a.m. - noon
July 7 to 10 (Mon. – Thurs.): Beginning Horsemanship,
ages 6 to 12
Campers learn horse care and safety, grooming, saddling,
and beginning riding. Campers may then advance to another camp session.
July 14 to 17 (Mon. – Thurs.): Gone Riding Again,
ages 6 and up
July 28 to 31 (Mon. – Thurs.): Gone Riding Again,
ages 6 and up
This camp is for those who have taken beginning
horsemanship. Campers practice gaits, balance, posture and cuing. Campers will
be instructed at their level. Those who have taken previous camps will advance
their skills by attending additional camp sessions. A fun show awarding
ribbons will take place in this camp.
